But that’s not Jae’s only problem.
There's also Marc. Irresistible and charming, Marc threatens to break the barriers around Jae's heart. As the two grow closer, Jae must decide if she can trust him. But Marc has a secret of his own—one that could help Jae overturn the curse on her family for good. It turns out that Jae's been wrong about a lot of things: her grandfather is her greatest ally, even the tough girl can fall in love, and Korea might just be the home she's always been looking for.

You follow Jae on her journey learning more about herself and her family and it's history. Finding out she more important that she ever expected, having protectors, falling in love, meeting family members for the first time. This girl goes through so much at the age of 16. You feel for her, going through everything with her. Sometimes wanting to hug her and other times wanting to shake her and scream! The fast pace in this book in brilliant, when they're not talking about the myths, Jae is in trouble and fights for freedom. I've never wanted anyone to win so much...
And then there's Marc, my goodness, Marc. The guy of every girls dreams, and if he isn't he definitely should be. Marc is the typical good looker of the school but with brains, but there's so much more to him. The only thing for me, I feel like we didn't learn everything or need more information on Marc and that's one of my reasons I cannot wait for the sequel!
Although the romance is great to read, and I'm going to go back to it, the history is what stands out. The family, the bond Jae builds with her aunt and grandfather, seeing how she copes with her father. The fact he doesn't believe her but she'll never give up on him or anyone. Then you have the Demi-god Haemosu, who's been after Jae's family for centuries. The powers he has is amazing but him, himself is one of the worse 'baddies' I can think of.
I cannot recommend this book enough! I suggest you all go ahead and buy this book and get ready for the sequel.
My rating for this book is 3 out of 3 stars. (see our rating system here)
